
Pedro Fortunato is a Dominican-American artist, producer, and musician who defies industry labels. He was born and raised in New York City and brings a fresh perspective to tropical contemporary music by embracing his roots in the diaspora, and incorporating both cultures into his art.
Pedro's compositions often share a sense of vulnerability through self-reflection and is a haven for those seeking a sense of deeper understanding in matters of love, emotions, self awareness & and higher consciousness within modern day society. His first single, "Palomita", earned him a nomination for the Premios Indie Awards in 2022.
As a sideman Pedro has recently shared the stage with renowned artists like Karol G, Yasser Tejeda, Riccie Oriach & Zeo Muñoz.
As a producer and songwriter his work can be heard on compositions such as "Adiós, Adiós" (recorded by Maxbanda), "Te Vi", (recorded by Renova, sung by Aris Jackson), "¿Qué Hago?" by Shino Aguakate “Honores”, a song for mixed multimedia arts project Mercedes by Modesto “Flako” Jimenez, that just completed a sold out week at BAM, and showcase his contemporary vision within the genre of Merengue Tipico.
Meanwhile, productions like "Corazón De Piedra", a debut single for singer Yanez, and “El Mundo Es De Nosotros”, for duo Liza & Willie, highlight Fortunato's experimental yet roots approach to bachata, notably in the guitar work & sound design. His songwriting can also be heard on Bachata Rising Vol. 2 for artist Frias with the track “Tengo Que Aceptar”, a project by sP Polanco four-time Latin Grammy nominee, ASCAP award-winning composer, and one of the key architects of modern bachata.
Fortunato’s upcoming 2025 music releases will continue to innovate in the genres of Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, Afro-Dominican Rythms & their fusions.
